Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of RUB. By signing in and playing, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

The game

RUB is a real-time chat game where you guess whether the person you are talking to is a human or an AI bot. You earn credits for correct guesses and for convincing other players you are human. Credits can be used to purchase cosmetic items in the in-game shop. Credits have no monetary value, are non-transferable, and cannot be redeemed for cash in this version.

Data and consent

When you send a message in RUB, the message is recorded and may be processed, scrubbed of personally identifiable information, scored for quality and emotion, and packaged into datasets that we license to AI research organizations. By using the service, you grant RUB a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, copy, store, transform, and sublicense your messages for these purposes.

Friend DMs are stored for the chat feature but excluded from the dataset pipeline. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Send messages that are illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that depict minors in any sexual context.
• Attempt to extract another player's real-world identity or contact information, or to dox, stalk, or threaten anyone.
• Automate gameplay, paste-spam to farm credits, or otherwise manipulate the trust system. We reserve the right to flag, quarantine, or ban accounts that do.
• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to disrupt the service's infrastructure.

Bots

Some accounts you interact with are AI bots operated by RUB. They are intentionally designed to be hard to distinguish from humans — that is the game. Bots do not have feelings, memories, or persistent stake in the conversation outside the parameters of the game.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at our discretion for violations of these terms or for abuse of the service. You may delete your account at any time; see the Privacy Policy for how that affects your historical data.

Disclaimers

RUB is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of RUB is limited to USD $50.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
